RACE DAY RESULTS FAQ1. How do race day results work? During the race, runners step over mats along the course at predetermined split markers. As they pass over the mat, their time is automatically recorded by the timing chip and sent to a computer that logs the exact time. The computer then feeds the information onto the Internet as fast as possible. 2. How do I find a runner? There are 2 ways to search for a runner. You can do a Quick Search by entering the runner’s bib number, first name, or last name, or you can perform an Advanced Search to search runners’ by demographic information. Each search requires that at least one field be entered. 3. How do I track an athlete? Follow the Quick Search directions for finding a runner. Once you have located the exact runner, click on the “Track this Athlete” button. Your runner will be added to your “My Runners” page. Your screen will not automatically refresh with updated timing information as your runner progresses through the race. However you will have the option to select either the five or ten minutes auto refresh to view the most updated information on your runner. 4. How do I track multiple athletes? Follow the Quick Search directions for finding a runner. Once you have located the exact runner you’d like to track, click on “Track this Athlete.” This will take you to the “My Runners” page, which will remember the athlete(s) you are following. To add additional athletes, use the Quick Search at the top of the My Runners page, and repeat the preceding instructions. Your screen should refresh to include all your runners. 5. How current is the timing information? All information is recorded real time according the split markers. As soon as the runner crosses the split markers, the information is reflected within 90 seconds on your screen. This assumes that there are no issues with the connection points and systems that are processing the information. As a reminder the information on your screen is also dependent on how often your IE window is refreshed. |
